Your experience starts at the Munnar Wild Trails office in Munnar. From here, you’ll be transferred in a jeep to the Letchmi Hills trailhead, about 15–20 minutes away.
Begin the trek through lush tea estates as the morning mist slowly rises. The trail is peaceful and serene, giving you a feel of rural Munnar life.
As you ascend, the landscape changes to open grasslands and meadows with stunning views on both sides. This part is great for photography and quick breathers.
The trail briefly passes near the shola forest line, where you might spot birds, butterflies, and occasional signs of wildlife. Your local guide will point out flora, animal tracks, and interesting facts about the region.
Reach the Letchmi viewpoint, the highest point of the trek. From here, you’ll get 360-degree views of Munnar’s valleys, surrounding mountains, and if lucky — even the Anamudi Peak (the highest point in South India).
After taking time to rest, enjoy the trek back down the hill. The descent is easier and gives a fresh perspective of the same trail. Your jeep will pick you up at the base and take you back to the starting point.
